University of Maryland Medical System's UM Shore Medical Group Cardiology in Easton, MD seeks a full-time Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to join our cardiology team in an outpatient setting. You will collaborate with cardiologists and hospitalists to deliver high-quality cardiovascular care to diverse patients.

Qualified applicants will have MD/DO- NP license in Maryland, board certification, and DEA; outpatient/ICU experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Job Description

Clinical Highlights

• Outpatient cardiology-focused role within a regional medical center
• Collaborate with cardiologists, interventionalists, and APP team
• Evaluate and manage patients with a variety of acute and chronic cardiac conditions
• Demonstrates competence in clinical assessment and decision -making including diagnostic reasoning and problem solving.
• Performs comprehensive history and physical assessment for patients in practice setting.
• Orders, obtains and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Establishes medical diagnosis based on history, assessment, and diagnostic findings.
• Designs, orders and documents appropriate treatment plans/plans of care including prescriptions of medications based on a comprehensive review of HPI and diagnostic results.
• Initiates protocols/clinical pathways, evaluates the plan of care ensuring timely intervention.
• Incorporates the patient and family in their healthcare plan; communicates plan of care with the patients and family members. Provides patient and family instruction related to the plan of care, disease process, new treatment plans, and medication regimens.
• Counsels and educates patients and family members in disease process, health maintenance and health promotion activities. Provides primary, secondary, and tertiary preventive care services.

Qualifications

• Possesses and maintains current license to practice medicine in the State of Maryland required.
• Possesses and maintains current Board Certification of Nurse Practitioner, Adult Gerontology or Acute Care certified preferred
• Possesses and maintains current DEA or similar Narcotics and Controlled Substances Certification required.
• Possesses and maintains, if applicable, appropriate clinical privileges at a minimum of one UMMS affiliated acute care facility.
• Experience in cardiology, ICU, or inpatient hospitalist settings strongly preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and team-based care skills

Compensation

• Pay Range: $104,416.00 - $144,102 (Compensation is determined based on years of experience as an advanced practice provider).
