Base pay range

$145,800.00/yr - $156,600.00/yr

Position Details

Title: Nurse Practitioner - Outpatient Breast Surgery

Org Unit: Breast Surgery Administration

Work Days: Monday-Friday

Weekly Hours: 35.00

Exemption Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $145,800.00 - $156,600.00

*As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for NYC offices

Position Summary

We have an opening for a Nurse Practitioner to join our team of breast surgery experts at the Weill Cornell Breast Center, pioneers in breast cancer treatment. Our team offers advanced surgical options for breast cancer treatment and prevention.

The Nurse Practitioner will provide direct patient care, coordinate within specialty areas, assess patients, order and interpret diagnostic tests, educate patients, and collaborate with healthcare providers to develop treatment plans.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide outpatient and/or inpatient patient care.
  • Evaluate patients through health histories and physical exams.
  • Order labs, imaging, and consultations; interpret results; prescribe medications.
  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as trained.
  • Document care in medical records following standards.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on disease management and health promotion.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in performance improvement and research activities.
  • Perform duties as needed within legal scope of practice.
Education & Experience
  • Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing
  • Approximately 2+ years of clinical experience as an NP, preferably in related specialty.
  • 1+ year of NP experience in breast surgery or oncology preferred.
  • New graduates with relevant RN experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Certifications
  • Critical thinking, communication, teamwork skills.
  • NYS Registered Nurse Practitioner license, current RN registration.
  • Applicable national certification (e.g., ANCC, PNCB).
  • Current BLS (American Heart Association).
  • Infection Control Certification.
