Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to join its orthopedic program in Meridian, Idaho.

This part-time 0.4 FTE role involves co-managing orthopedic patients with a primary surgeon, including exams, injections, casting, pre-operative assessments, and postoperative follow-up. Clinic experience and Idaho licensing are required, with DEA and Idaho Board of Pharmacy registrations expected.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in Idaho.
• Valid DEA registration and Idaho Board of Pharmacy registration.
• Experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with orthopedic surgeon and multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Job description

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led 800+ provider multispecialty group that has an excellent opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) who is committed to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care and who is willing to support the growth of an orthopedic practice as part of a dedicated orthopedic program.

Responsibilities include co-management of the orthopedic patient in collaboration with the patients primary orthopedic surgeon. This involves direct management of the patient including, but not limited to, the following exams, procedures and services: multiple joint injections, casting, pre-operative history and physicals, surgical assisting, post-operative follow up, and management of both acute conditions as well as chronic, non-surgical conditions. The advanced practice provider would be responsible for ordering, interpreting and evaluating laboratory and diagnostic data, prescribing medications, and developing a treatment plan.

The qualified candidate will exude passion about orthopedic health issues and demonstrate evidence of comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills and problem-solving abilities. The provider must hold a valid controlled substance registration with both the Idaho Board of Pharmacy and the DEA. The desirable candidate will also have prior healthcare experience in a clinic setting.

Support:

The APP will support a shoulder surgeon at Meridian Health Plaza, primarily managing established, follow-up, and postoperative clinic visits. The role may also provide surgical first‑assist support as needed to enhance clinic capacity and patient access.

Requirements:

• Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner medical license in Idaho; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho; Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
• A strong medical background and a desire to develop a practice to support a growing multi-specialty medical group. In providing this support, you will obtain Idaho medical licensure to maintain and strengthen the Health System's general internal program across all communities we serve.

Status:

Part-Time (0.4 FTE)

Schedule:

Primarily clinic work supporting a provider on Monday and Tuesday each week. Possible assisting in surgery as needed.
