Job summary

Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our critical care team. This role offers state-of-the-art medicine in a collaborative environment with experienced physicians and a dedicated nursing staff.

Work a mix of day and night 12-hour shifts (14 shifts/month) with nocturnal stipends, alongside critical care physicians. Moonlighting opportunities are available to increase income, with comprehensive patient care and possible

Qualifications

• Master's Degree required in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
• Certification: NCCPA; Basic Life Support certification.
• Experience in acute/critical care settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care: assessment, planning, education, treatment and follow-up.
• Collaborate with critical care physicians in a team-based model.
• Learn and perform procedures such as central lines, temporary dialysis catheters and arterial lines.

This is an exciting opportunity to practice advanced, state-of-the-art medicine in a collaborative environment supported by experienced physicians and a dedicated nursing staff.

Job Duties

Position Highlights

• 14 shifts/month with a mix of day and night (nocturnal stipend offered) 12-hour shifts (7 am–7 pm or 7 pm–7 am)
• Work alongside critical care physicians in a collaborative, team-based model
• Provide comprehensive care: assessment, planning, education, treatment, and follow-up
• Learn and perform procedures: Central Lines, Temporary dialysis catheters, Arterial lines with the opportunity to learn others
• Serve as a patient advocate, liaison, and trusted advisor for patients and families
• Opportunity to participate in patient-centered research and a variety of improvement initiatives
• Moonlighting opportunities available for additional income
