Job summary

Turning Point Care Center in Georgia is seeking a PRN Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our mental health team. The NP will work with the Medical Director and clinical staff to assess patients, develop diagnosis plans, prescribe treatments, and manage care in collaboration with the physician.

Qualified applicants will hold a MSN with PMHNP or PMHCNS certification, Georgia APRN licensure, and at least five years in psychiatric/chemical dependency nursing. Knowledge of DSM-5 is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing with PMHNP or PMHCNS certification.
• Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Georgia; National board certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive mental health assessments and determine diagnosis plans.

The Nurse Practitioner works closely with the Medical Director, Clinical Staff, and Nursing Staff to provide comprehensive mental health assessments, determine diagnosis plans, prescribe treatments, and manage mental health care regimens in collaboration with the designated physician.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants will have:

• Master of Science in Nursing with certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (PMHCNS) with one of the accredited National Certification Organizations (ANCC, AANP)
• Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia; Certification with a National Certification Board
• Five (5) years of experience in the area of psychiatric/chemical dependency nursing
• Knowledge and mastery of DSM-5 and biopsychosocial assessment
