Matrix Providers is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to perform one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exams in Palmdale, CA. This full-time position offers a Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm schedule with an hourly pay range of $60.07–$63.23/hr.

The role involves reviewing medical history, documenting electronically, and submitting exams to the Department of Veterans Affairs for disability determinations.

Qualifications

• Active NP or PA license required for duration of employment.
• NCCPA certification for Physician Assistants and ongoing maintenance.
• Master's degree or completion of an approved PA program.
• Active BLS certification.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Vaccination per CDC/state guidelines required.
• VA or compensation exam experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Review medical history and perform one-time veterans compensation and pension exams.
• Document responses electronically; exams sent to VA for disability determinations.
• Conduct standard exams (musculoskeletal, cardio, respiratory) and arrange ancillaries (X-ray, labs, EKGs, PFTs, ABIs).

• Employment Status: Full Time
• Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly $60.07- $63.23/hr.

This role supports patient care during sensitive procedures where patients may request a same-gender staff member. The facility seeks to ensure appropriate gender representation among staff to accommodate patient choice.

Requirements and Skillsets:

The Nurse Practitioner NP / Physician Assistant PA must have and meet the following qualifications:

• Hold and maintain an active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license for the duration of your employment.
• Physician Assistants must hold an active NCCPA certification and remain certified during the duration of their employment.
• Have a master's degree or successfully completed an approved Physician Assistant Program.
• Certification: Have an active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing situations.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• All on-site staff and contractors must be fully vaccinated per CDC and state guidelines.
• Prior VA or compensation exam experience is a plus but not required.

Job Summary:

• Review pertinent medical history documentation and provide veterans with one-time, non-treatment compensation and pension exams.
• The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will capture responses during the exam through web-based examination form(s); all documentation will be completed electronically. Completed exams are sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations.
• Standard exams include - musculoskeletal, cardio, and respiratory.
• Ancillaries (X-rays, labs, EKGs, PFTs, ABIs) may be ordered and will be conducted on location or nearby.
