Job summary

St. Joseph Hospice in Mississippi is seeking a Full-Time Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate direct patient care in the Vicksburg area.

You will assess patients, participate in care planning, educate families, and collaborate with the hospice team to deliver high-quality end-of-life care. Qualifications

• Must be a Mississippi-licensed RN.
• Minimum 2 years of full-time experience in oncology, acute care, long-term care, hospice or home health.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
• Knowledge of EMR.
• Hospice experience preferred.
• Compassionate RN with good time management.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Assist in developing and implementing the Hospice Plan of Care.
• Educate patient and family on Plan of Care, including medications, dressing changes, oxygen, and hospice philosophy.
• Act as primary liaison between physician, patient/family and hospice team.
• Maintain accurate and updated medical records.
• Participate in agency on-call schedule.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures and compliance guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required in State of Mississippi
• Minimum of two (2) years full-time experience as an RN, either in oncology, an acute care setting with direct patient care, a long-term care facility, hospice or home health care. Two (2) of experience in hospice care as an LPN may be substituted for the required 2 years of experience as an RN
• Current CPR certification required
• Current automobile insurance and valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of EMR is required
• Previous Hospice experience preferred
• Compassionate RN with great time management skills

Job Duties:

• Performs the initial and on-going assessment of the patient

• Educate patient and family on Plan of Care, including medication administration, dressing changes, oxygen administration, Hospice philosophy and care of the terminally ill patient
• Act as primary liaison between physician, patient/family and hospice team
• Maintain an accurate and updated medical record
• Makes routine supervisory visits
• Participates in agency on-call schedule
• Abide by company policies and procedures, compliance guidelines, applicable laws, and regulations promptly reporting any suspected violation of compliance standards
