Job summary

Houston Methodist seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and education, in inpatient or outpatient settings within the Texas nursing practice act framework.

The NP collaborates with physicians and the interprofessional team, conducts assessments, orders tests, and manages patient care pathways with a focus on safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited school of Nursing and graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Two years of registered nurse, advanced practice or nurse practitioner clinical experience.
• RN licensure and prescriptive authority requirements in Texas (PSV) and related certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnosis, treatment and consultations as part of a care team.
• Coordinate patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Educate patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments.
• Lead and support interprofessional rounds and nursing practice standards.
