Job summary

Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking a Nurse Practitioner PRN to provide comprehensive patient care in collaboration with physicians and the interprofessional team.

The NP will assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients, order tests as appropriate, and ensure safe, high-quality care within Texas licensure rules.

This role requires strong communication, clinical judgement, and the ability to work in inpatient or outpatient settings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited school of Nursing and graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioners program.
• Two years of registered nurse, advanced practice or nurse practitioner clinical experience.
• RN Texas licensure and APRN non-acute care licensure and board certification.
• BLS certification and prescriptive authority as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnosis, treatment and consultation within nurse practitioner scope.
• Collaborate with physicians and interprofessional team to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments.
• Lead and participate in rounds and care planning to improve patient outcomes.
