Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Nurse Practitioner with NY licensure and national certification to provide independent practice in a specialized clinical area. The role emphasizes comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and collaboration with physicians within established protocols.

The NP will deliver care, order diagnostics, educate patients, and document plans in the medical record, while maintaining confidentiality and participating in interprofessional teams.

Qualifications

• At least two years of nursing experience in the area of specialty practice.
• Nurse Practitioner experience of at least one year preferred.
• Licensure: New York State License with current registration as a registered nurse.
• State Certification: Certified by the New York State Department of Education as a Nurse Practitioner with current registration as follows: a) graduate of NYS NP program or equivalent OR NP certification by a national association, b) IT includes a pharmacy component course, c) Collaborative Practice Agreement or FP/CPR with physician.

Responsibilities

• Assesses health status of patients/families by health history and physical exam.
• Initiates and orders therapeutic and diagnostic procedures; prescribes medications and interprets findings.
• Educates and counsels on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of illnesses.
• Documents findings and plan of care in medical records.
• Consults with physician per policies and protocols.
• Develops plan of care based on diagnoses and patient needs.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and participates in team meetings to enhance care delivery.

New York State NP license

NYS NP certification

Master's degree in NP or related

DEA certificate and BLS certification

ACLS/PALS/NALS/NRP certificates as required

FPPE/OPPE credentialing
