Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to deliver comprehensive patient care across the continuum in a hospital setting. The role includes histories, physical exams, daily rounds with physicians, and assistance with pre- and post-operative care.

The candidate should have PA education, NCCPA certification, and applicable NJ licenses. This position supports our commitment to high-quality patient care and collaborative practice.

Qualifications

• Physician Assistant graduate from an NCCPA-approved program.
• One-year experience in primary or acute care preferred.
• NJ Physician Assistant License.
• Nurse Practitioner: BSN and MSN or post-master's certificate.
• Advanced Practice Nurse – NJ License.

Responsibilities

• Perform histories and physical examinations, ongoing patient assessments and some critical care procedures.
• Participate in daily patient rounds with physicians, facilitate pre-op and post-op care.
• Assist with admission work-ups and/or consults to facilitate care across the continuum.
• Initiate, monitor, alter and order treatments including device placement, therapy referrals, and discharge planning.
• Re-evaluate the patient throughout hospitalization and modify plan of care with clinical staff.
• Complete transfer of care notes when transferring patients to another medical service.
• Contribute to development and revision of patient care standards and policies.

Education

Physician Assistant program (NCCPA approved)

NCCPA certification

NJ Physician Assistant License
