Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program, NCCPA certified.
• One year experience with primary care management or acute care preferred.
• NJ Physician Assistant License (for PA role) or Advanced Practice Nurse licensure (for NP role).
• NP: Master’s degree in advanced clinical practice or post-master’s certificate for NP.

Responsibilities

• Performs histories and physical examinations, ongoing patient assessments and some critical care procedures.
• Assists with admission work-ups and/or consults to facilitate care across the continuum.
• Initiates, monitors, alters and orders treatments including device placement, therapy, home health referral, and discharge planning.
• Re-evaluates the patient throughout the hospitalization and modifies the plan of care in collaboration with clinical staff.
• Provides care appropriate to the age and development of the patient.
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as indicated for diagnosis and management of problems.
• Completes wound assessments, initiates basic skin care orders, and orders labs/imaging as needed.
• Participates in hospital Quality Improvement and helps revise patient care standards and policies.
