Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Shifts will be split between the East Park Medical Center and the Johnson Creek Carbone Cancer Center or other community-based UW Health outreach clinics, with one week per month at Unity Point Health-Meriter Hospital for inpatient consults. Hours may vary based on operational needs.

As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our ambulatory and inpatient care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant in General Hematology Oncology to:

• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care to cancer patients in active treatment as well as patients with benign hematologic conditions in a primarily outpatient setting.
• Provide new and follow-up appointments at East Park Medical Center, Johnson Creek Cancer Clinic, and other UW Health regional/outreach cancer clinics.
• Provide inpatient coverage one week per month at Unity Point Health-Meriter Hospital, conducting history and physical examinations prior to admissions and rounding on patients in a consultative role.
• Perform routine clinical procedures independently as outlined in practice agreements/scope of practice including, but not limited to, bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures with intrathecal chemotherapy.

Education:
If Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate from an accredited Nursing Program.
If Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited PA Program.

Work Experience:

Minimum - 1-3 years caring for hematology/medical oncology patients.

Preferred - Experience with acute and ambulatory cancer patient care.

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum – State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure
If Nurse Practitioner:

• Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
• Active board certification as an NP in area of clinical practice (e.g., Adult, Adult/Gerontology, Family).

If Physician Assistant:

• Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
• Active PA board certification

All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have active DEA license or the ability to apply for one prior to or upon hire.
