Job summary

Penn State Health Children’s Hospital in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our Neonatal-Perinatal team—the region’s only Level IV NICU. The NNP will provide advanced, family-centered care in a collaborative environment with neonatologists, fellows, residents, nurses and staff.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s in Neonatal nursing (NNP), NNP-BC certification, PA RN/CRNP licensure (or eligible), at least 2 years in a high-acuity NICU, and BLS/NRP

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Neonatal nursing (NNP) from an accredited program.
  • National certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP-BC).
  • Current Pennsylvania RN and CRNP licensure (or eligible).
  • Minimum of two (2) years RN experience in a high-acuity NICU.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced, evidence-based, family-centered neonatal care.
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, fellows, residents, nurses and specialty staff.
  • Offer autonomy with opportunities for mentorship and 24/7 in-house coverage.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Penn State Health Children’s Hospital is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our Neonatal-Perinatal team — the only Level IV NICU in central Pennsylvania.

Our NICU cares for a diverse, complex population, including extremely premature infants, those with congenital anomalies, genetic disorders, congenital heart disease, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, and conditions requiring ECMO or advanced surgical care.

The NNP will provide advanced, evidence-based, family-centered care, collaborating with attending neonatologists, fellows, residents, nurses, and specialty staff. This role offers autonomy, opportunities for mentorship and education, and participation in 24/7 in-house coverage to ensure seamless care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)
  • Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) program
  • National certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP-BC)

  • Minimum of two (2) years RN experience in a high-acuity NICU
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S)
  • Prior Level III or IV NICU experience
