Provides comprehensive, high-acuity care as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) on the Acute Nephrology Service at Penn State Health, managing a diverse population of patients with complex renal and fluid-electrolyte disorders. Performs daily multidisciplinary rounding, conducts thorough assessments, develops and implements evidence-based treatment plans, and monitors response to therapy for acute and chronic kidney conditions, including acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease exacerbations, electrolyte imbalances, and hypertension.
Collaborates closely with attending nephrologists, hospitalist teams, intensivists, nursing staff, and ancillary services to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. Plays a key role in the initiation and management of inpatient dialysis therapies (hemodialysis, CRRT), including patient evaluation, treatment adjustments, and complication management.
Extends care continuity across settings through outpatient dialysis rounding, supporting long-term management of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients. Demonstrates strong clinical decision-making, effective communication, and a commitment to quality outcomes, patient safety, and operational efficiency in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
