Job summary

Wellpath seeks a licensed Nurse Practitioner to provide medical care for incarcerated patients at the NE Lancaster Cty Corr Fac in Lincoln, NE. The role requires current NP licensure in the state and CPR certification, with corrections experience preferred.

The NP will perform exams, chronic care management, and infirmary rounds, documenting in SOAP format and coordinating with site physicians. Day shift, full-time, with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Must have current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of employment.
• Must have and maintain current CPR certification.
• Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical care to inmates, including conducting exams, chronic care clinics, and infirmary rounds.
• Maintains accurate and legible progress note documentation in SOAP format and adheres to formulary guidelines.
• Responds to emergencies and makes logical decisions regarding non-formulary drugs or off-site referrals.
• Supports existing policies and procedures for admission, transfer, and specialty consultant referrals.
• Maintains confidentiality and provides input into facility committees as requested.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program
