Job summary

Responsibilities

• Take comprehensive histories and perform physical examinations.

• Order and interpret labs and diagnostic studies.
• Manage follow-up visits and chronic GI conditions.
• Educate patients on GI health and prevention.
• Coordinate care with physicians and staff.
• Maintain timely medical documentation and records.

Job description

Established Gastroenterology Practice in Henderson, Nevada is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team.

We are looking for a compassionate, clinically skilled Nurse Practitioner who enjoys providing high-quality, patient-centered care and wants to become an integral part of a collaborative gastroenterology practice.

The Nurse Practitioner will evaluate and manage patients with a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions, working closely with our gastroenterologists and clinical staff, in an outpatient and inpatient setting

Responsibilities may include:

Performing comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations
Evaluating and managing common gastrointestinal conditions

Taking few days of GI call every month at the hospital
Developing and implementing treatment plans
Ordering and interpreting appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies
Managing follow-up visits and chronic GI conditions
Providing patient education regarding gastrointestinal health
Coordinating care with physicians and other healthcare professionals
Maintaining accurate and timely medical documentation
Participating in a collaborative, physician-supported practice environment

Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
Instruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic regimens promoting wellness and health maintenance.
Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Protect patients and employees by adhering to infectioncontrol policies and protocols.
Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements enforcing adherence to requirements advising management on needed actions.

We are seeking an NP who is:

1. Board certified as an NP. Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in Nevada
2. ACLS Certified
3. BLS Certified
4. Experienced in outpatient and inpatient clinical practice
5. Gastroenterology experience preferred, but strong candidates from internal medicine, family medicine, or other relevant specialties will be considered
