Job summary

Community Health-GoHealth Urgent Care in Central Indiana is seeking a Nurse Practitioner Float to provide broad clinical services across ages, treating acute conditions and working with physicians as needed.

The NP will assess, diagnose, and manage patients independently when appropriate, while ensuring safe escalation to emergency services when required. A Master’s in Nursing and national NP certification are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full‑time NP/PA experience in Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine.
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patients.
• Comfort with minor procedures including suturing, casting and splinting.
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X‑rays.
• Master’s degree in Nursing and national NP certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and review patient histories.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments.
• Perform minor procedures: suturing, splinting, casting.
• Document encounters in the EMR and educate patients.

About the Role

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Float, you will provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You’ll treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu–like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. You’ll work independently or alongside a physician, using your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while recognizing when to elevate care to emergency services.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications
• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR
• Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention
• Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full‑time experience as a licensed NP or PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting (required)
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (required)
• Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting (required)
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays (required)
• Nurse Practitioners: Master’s degree in Nursing (required)
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC) (required)
