Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care in Central Indiana seeks a Nurse Practitioner (Float) to provide a broad range of clinical services for patients of all ages in urgent care. You’ll assess, diagnose and treat acute conditions, while collaborating with physicians as needed.

Eligible candidates hold a Master’s in Nursing and national NP certification, with at least 1 year of Urgent Care or ER experience. Strong clinical skills and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year full-time NP/PA experience in Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine.
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patients.
• Comfort with suturing, casting and splinting procedures.
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and review patient histories.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe treatments or medications.
• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, casting.
• Document encounters and treatment plans in the EMR.
• Educate patients on care and prevention; vaccinate when appropriate.

About The Role

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Float, you will provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You’ll treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. You’ll work independently or alongside a physician, using your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while recognizing when to elevate care to emergency services.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications
• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR
• Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention
• Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP or PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting (required)
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (required)
• Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting (required)
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays (required)

Nurse Practitioners

• Master’s degree in Nursing (required)
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC) (required)
