Owensboro Health Medical Group in Owensboro, KY, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse to collaborate with a pulmonology/critical care team in the adult ICU, delivering comprehensive care to patients.

You will perform assessments, order and interpret studies, provide direct treatment, educate patients and families, document care, support admissions and transfers, and assist with procedures such as central lines and ventilator management, all while upholding the organization's core

Formación

• Master's degree or higher in Nursing is required.
• RN and APRN licensure in Kentucky required upon hire.

Weekend Requirements: Every Other | Work Hours: 7 days on 7 days off | Status: Full Time - 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) | Entity: Owensboro Health Medical Group | Department: Pulmonology OwensboroJob Summary:In collaboration with a physician, diagnoses and treats certain acute or chronic health conditions in the adult intensive care unit.Job Responsibilities:Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination.Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies.Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers.Provides counseling and education to patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health and treatment options.Provides care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision-making, and the right to self-determination.Provides accurate and timely documentation of assessment and patient care plan.Assists with admissions, consults, daily progress notes, and transfers from critical care unit.Coordinates care between medical specialties.Participates in morning rounding with intensivist and rounding with the multidisciplinary intensive care team.Assists intensivists with procedures which include central line and arterial line placement; additional procedures may include chest tube placement and thoracentesis with the pulmonologists/intensivists.Assists with basic ventilator management.Performs critical care ultrasound procedures.Skills and Attributes:Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.Works under direct supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Position Requirements:Work ExperienceNo experience required.EducationMaster's degree or higher in Nursing required upon hireLicensure/Certification/RegistrationRN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse.
