Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY, is seeking an RN for the NICU to provide direct nursing care under established policies and protocols. You will coordinate care with multiple disciplines, monitor patient conditions, and execute physician and nursing orders.

The role requires ongoing discharge planning and family education tailored to age and culture. The position requires KY RN licensure, BLS within 45 days, and NRP within 12 months, with a Bachelor’s degree to be completed

Qualifications

• RN—Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Kentucky required upon hire
• BLS—Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 45 days of employment
• NRP—Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider required within 12 months of employment
• Associate's degree or Diploma in Nursing required upon hire and Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing required within 5 years of employment

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with policies, procedures and protocols
• Performs functions related to problem definition, data collection, interpretation and analysis
• Implements and monitors patient care plans
• Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with patient/family and healthcare team
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age and culture
• Performs duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act
