Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) – Clinical Specialist II (APRN) - Adult Outpatient Psychiatry

Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), a nationally recognized public healthcare system, is seeking a Clinical Specialist II (APRN) to join our Adult Outpatient Psychiatry service. CHA operates three hospital campuses and an integrated outpatient network across Cambridge, Somerville, and Boston’s Metro North Region, with an electronic medical record system (EPIC). Our Department of Psychiatry is known for excellence in patient care, teaching, and research.

Position Details
  • 40 hours/week; Days/Evenings at MNA Everett Union
  • Provide evaluations and treatment for an assigned caseload, including psychosocial care
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and program leadership
  • Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical standards
  • Assess medication needs and prescribe according to guidelines
  • Administer medications following nursing policies
  • Coordinate with medical director on psychopharmacologic treatments
  • Provide mental health consultations to community caregivers and organize case conferences
Qualifications
  • Current Basic Life Support “C” Certification
  • Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (American Nursing Association)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an advanced practice role
  • Graduate of an accredited NLN nursing program; Master's degree preferred
  • Massachusetts licensure with prescriptive authority as a Psychiatric Nurse Clinical Specialist
