Job summary

Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our cardiology team in Shakopee/Edina. You will perform patient assessments, determine diagnoses, order and interpret diagnostics, and prescribe medications in collaboration with attending physicians.

The role requires a master's degree in NP/PA, NCCPA or ANCC/AANP certification, MN RN license (NP candidates), and valid MN/WI NP/PA license or ability to obtain.

Qualifications

• Master's degree completion of accredited NP or PA program.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant (NCCPA) or NP certification (ANCC/AANP) required upon hire.
• Licensed RN in MN (NP candidates) required upon hire.
• Active MN & WI NP/PA license or ability to obtain.
• BLS certification required within 180 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain MN DEA certification and NPI.
• Credentialing and hospital privileges eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive patient assessments and determine diagnoses.
• Order and interpret diagnostics in collaboration with attending physician.
• Prescribe medications, treatments, and medical equipment as appropriate.
• Educate patients for chronic illness management and wellness care.

Requirements

• Master's degree - Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Master's degree completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program required
• Certification as a Physician Assistant - NCCPA required upon hire, or Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) or (AANP) required upon hire
• Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire (NP candidates)
• Active MN & WI NP/PA license (or ability to obtain)
• BLS certification required within 180 days of hire
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges
• Prefer a minimum of 2 years experience in cardiology or ICU
• Medium Work: lifting up to 32 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently
