Job summary

Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute seeks a General Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider for practice in Shakopee and Edina clinics.

10-hour shifts, four days a week with typical clinic hours and no weekend, holiday, or on-call rotation. Strong cardiology experience preferred; NP/PA licensure required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Certification as NP/PA (NCCPA, ANCC or AANP) upon hire.
• Licensed RN in MN and ability to obtain MN/WI NP/PA license.
• BLS certification within 180 days of hire; ability to obtain DEA and NPI.

Responsibilities

• Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
• Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
• Orders and interprets medical diagnostics with attending physician.
• Prescribes medications, treatments, and medical equipment.
• Provides patient education for chronic illness management and wellness.

Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities:

• Completes comprehensive patient assessments
• Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness
• Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician
• Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment
• Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree - Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

Preferred Qualifications:

• New graduates may be considered. Prefer a minimum of 2 years experience in cardiology or ICU

Licenses/Certifications:

• Master's degree completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program required
• Certification as a Physician Assistant - NCCPA -National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants upon hire required or Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) - American Nurse Credentialing Center or (AANP) American Association for Nurse Practitioners required upon hire
• Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire (NP candidates)
• Active MN & WI NP/PA license (or ability to obtain).
• BLS certification required with in 180 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $56.48 to $78.15 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
