Essentia Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Cardiology for a Park Rapids, MN clinic. The role focuses on advanced assessment, independent clinic visits, and working with physicians and care teams to deliver high-quality cardiovascular care.

The position requires NP/PA licensure for MN/ND and a strong customer-service approach. Clinic hours are Mon-Fri 8a-5p, with outreach/telemedicine 2–3 times per month.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s or Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
• Preferred Cardiology background.
• Current RN license in appropriate state (MN/ND).
• Current NP or PA license in appropriate state; MN/ND as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Treat clinic patients in a Cardiology setting.
• Independent clinic visits and patient education.

Utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise.

Work collaboratively with the Fargo Cardiology team-based model that includes a great mix of Physicians and Advanced Practice Clinicians along with a strong team of nurses, techs and ancillary staff within our Heart & Vascular Department.

• Full time position 1.0 FTE
• Clinic Mon-Fri 8a-5p
• Treat clinic patients
• Skill set includes but not limited to independent clinic visits, vast knowledge of heart and vascular pathophysiology, congestive heart failure, and strong patient communication and educational skills.
• Outreach/telemedicine 2-3 times per month in regional locations.

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP/PA will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
• Preferred background/experience in Cardiology.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state (if NP); will need ND & MN.
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in appropriate state; will need ND & MN.
• Current certification in CPR
• National certification, in applicable area.
• Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.

LOCATION OPTIONS:

• Centrally located in the heart of the Lakes Area
• 1 hour from Fargo and 3 hours from the Twin Cities
• Detroit Lakes population: 8,500 or Park Rapids population: 4,000
• Regional Service area consists of 5 clinics and 1 hospital

Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, quality incentives or production-based compensation
