Job summary

Woodlawn Health's Argos Clinic is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our patient-centered team. You will provide quality care, assess patients, and work with physicians and staff to support our community in Argos, Indiana.

The ideal candidate has an active Indiana RN license, completion of an NP program, and the ability to prescribe under protocols. BLS certification is required or obtained prior to direct patient care, with a collaborative mindset and commitment to high standards of service.

SHIFT: Full-Time / Day Shift / No Weekends / No Holidays

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently licensed in the state of Indiana as an RN
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) program
• Approximately two years of clinical experience in the area of specialty is preferred.
• Must possess & maintenance Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain prior to providing direct patient care.
• Willingness to collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, or other medical professionals.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Patient Care: Assess and provide treatment and medically manage wellness or common illness and injuries complying with written medical protocols and procedures. Perform historical documentation and physical examination. Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic studies to treat the patient. Demonstrate awareness of emergency situations and can perform duties appropriately.
• Medication Management: Furnish/prescribe medications based upon the patient assessment and per protocols. Initiate drug therapy for both chronic and episodic disorders including complications of otherwise normal processes. Ensure that patients are counseled regarding treatment plans and the use, dosage and possible side effects of medications.
• Scope of Practice: Cooperates with Collaborating Physician when necessary. Assures referral to appropriate providers when patients require subspecialty medical attention beyond the area’s scope of service or the NP scope of care. Demonstrate a high degree of skill and accuracy in all clinical activities. Complies with medical staff rules and regulations. Serves as a patient advocate. Maintains required State continuing education requirements.
• Documentation/Communication: Utilizes computer documentation system appropriately. Document the patient’s visit in the medical record, in problem-oriented format and in accordance with Hospital policy, and any Federal and State Standards. Communicates professionally, consistently, and effectively with all team members to ensure coordination and prioritization of patient care duties and responsibilities. Willingness to learn and work in an autonomous, flexible, agile work environment.
