Job summary

AdventHealth in Celebration, FL is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) for a part-time role. You will conduct comprehensive health assessments, interpret diagnostics, initiate orders, and manage acute and chronic conditions within scope and policy.

You will educate patients and families, coordinate care with physicians and the team, participate in rounds and care planning, and contribute to quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Master's of Nursing is required.
• 1+ year of related work experience required.
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license required.
• Field of study: Nursing.
• Licensing/certification may vary by unit/state.
• Background screening as per Florida law

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive health assessments, including physical examinations and histories.
• Initiates orders for medications, labs, diagnostics, and treatments within scope and policy.
• Identifies health status changes and implements appropriate interventions.
• Diagnoses and manages acute and chronic conditions across organ systems.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized care plans.
• Provides patient and family education and support regarding treatment plans.
• Coordinates patient care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Facilitates patient flow and discharge planning.
• Participates in rounds, case conferences, and care planning.
• Ensures accurate documentation of encounters and plans in policy.
• Responds to urgent needs and participates in on-call responsibilities.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and data analysis.
• Incorporates evidence-based practice to enhance outcomes.
• Engages in professional development and community engagement.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Shift: Monday to Friday - Variable Days, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Conducts comprehensive health assessments, including physical examinations, patient histories, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.

• Initiates orders for medications, laboratory studies, diagnostic testing, and treatments within scope of practice and organizational policy.

• Identifies alterations in patient health status and implements appropriate nursing and medical interventions.

• Diagnoses and manages acute and chronic health conditions across organ systems.

• Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized plans of care, considering age‑specific needs.

• Provides patient and family education, counseling, and support regarding treatment plans and health management.

• Coordinates patient care in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.

• Facilitates efficient and effective patient flow, including appropriate utilization of resources and discharge planning.

• Participates in interdisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and care planning activities.

• Ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, procedures, and care plans in accordance with policy.

• Responds to urgent or emergent patient needs and participates in on‑call responsibilities as scheduled.

• Participates in quality improvement activities, including data collection, outcome analysis, and process evaluation.

• Incorporates evidence‑based practice to enhance clinical outcomes and support program development.

• Engages in professional development activities and represents the organization in appropriate community or educational events.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
