Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant Virtual Urgent Care

Job Summary

We are seeking an Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a minimum of five years of experience in emergency medicine or urgent care for a virtual urgent care position.

Job Duties

A virtual Advanced Practice Provider will perform acute triage, evaluation, and treatment to care for new or established patients. The provider will demonstrate autonomy through patient evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.

• Work will be done in a remote virtual setting
• Virtual clinic hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Sunday
• 72 templated hours and 8 discretionary hours
• Every third weekend – 6 shifts in two weeks
• Patient census: up to 46 patients per day; 15-minute appointment blocks
• No overnight shifts
• Closed six major holidays

Requirements

• At least five years of clinical experience in urgent care or emergency department settings
• Able to treat patients ages two and older
• Private workspace
• Good broadband connection

• Geisinger computer
• Webcam, monitors, etc.

Position Details

Education: Master's Degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) or Physician Assistant

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in advanced practice

Certifications and Licenses: Certified Nurse Practitioner (American Academy of Nurse Practitioners); Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania); Basic Life Support Certification
