Job summary

Indian Health Service seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive patient care, diagnose and treat health conditions, and educate patients in accordance with federal guidelines.

This federal role includes a recruitment/relocation sign-on bonus where eligible, background investigations, and compliance with health and safety requirements. On-call duties and rotating shifts may apply in a Civil Service environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate or higher-level degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Current, active, unrestricted nursing license in the U.S. or territory.
• APN licensure in clinical specialty required for advanced positions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret patient histories, symptoms, and diagnostic information to diagnose illnesses.
• Develop treatment plans based on standards of care and guidelines.
• Diagnose or treat acute health problems such as illnesses, infections, and injuries.
• Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, dosage and frequencies.
• Educate patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses.
