Job summary

The Indian Health Service is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive care to American Indian and Alaska Native communities. You will assess patients, diagnose conditions, develop and implement treatment plans, and educate patients for self-management. Eligible candidates may receive a recruitment/relocation sign-on bonus.

Applicants must meet NP licensure requirements and be prepared for a federal background check and rotating shifts as part of a comprehensive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Education: graduate or higher nursing degree from an accredited program.
• Licensure: active, unrestricted NP license in the U.S.
• APN licensure in specialty as required.
• Experience: relevant clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret patient histories, symptoms, and diagnostics to form diagnoses.
• Develop treatment plans based on standards of care and guidelines.
• Diagnose or treat acute health problems and manage care.
• Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, and dosing guidelines.
• Educate patients on self-management of acute or chronic illnesses.
