Qualifications

• Education: Nurse Practitioner Certificate or Master's in NP per Michigan standards.
• Licensure: RN in Michigan, NP certification by Michigan Board or ANA specialty certification.
• Experience: FQHC setting preferred.
• Skills: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate with a diverse population.
• Physical: Ability to lift/carry/push/pull/twist up to 25 lbs.
• Hours: 40 hours per week, flexible and varied.
• Travel: Local travel; reimbursement per GLBHC policy.

MARGINAL JOB DUTIES

• Designs and implements strategies to effect change of current health care system as appropriate, participates in task forces, and functions as an intermediary between nursing staff and Physicians to reinforce or implement change.
• Participates in the continuing education of nursing staff, nurse practitioner students, medical students, interns, residents and other students.
• Performs other functions related to health center as directed by GLBHC and/or Medical Director.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• Education: Evidence of completion from either an accredited Nurse Practitioner Certificate program or Master's Degree Nurse Practitioner Program which conforms to Board of Registered Nursing standards.
• Licensure: N. (State of Michigan), and Specialty Certification by State of Michigan Board of Registered Nursing and/or Specialty Certification through the ANA as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Experience: Previous experience in FQHC setting preferred.
• Skills: Participates in ongoing education as required for maintenance of Nurse Practitioner certification. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
• Physical Effort:Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and or twist while holding up to 25 lbs. frequently.
• Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, or as necessary to complete the job. Flexible and varied.
• Travel: Local travel except for conferences. Reimbursement in accordance with contract and GLBHC policy.
