Great Lakes Bay Health Centers is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner responsible for diagnosing, evaluating, and treating behavioral, emotional, and cognitive disorders. The role involves prescribing treatments, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and maintaining patient records.
The ideal candidate should hold a Master of Nursing degree and have a valid license. They will manage and oversee behavioral health staff, requiring effective communication, organizational skills, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently.
Flexibility in work hours is available, with full-time or part-time options offered.
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is directly responsible for diagnosing or evaluating behavioral, emotional and cognitive disorders through observation, interview and psychological tests. Applies theory relating to behavior and mental processes to formulate and administer treatment that includes counseling and therapy. Helps patients work toward the maintenance and enhancement of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and interpersonal functioning. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is also responsible for appropriate documentation in the patient chart. Participates in a team-based approach to care in the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). Participates in activities related to Quality Improvement.
