The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) will provide psychiatric care to individuals receiving services with a broad range of physical, mental, behavioral, and social conditions at LifePath Systems. The APRN will work under supervision and delegation of the Medical Director with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment within their scope of practice. The APRN may consult with other specialists for specialized conditions or for counseling and may provide backup services to other Medical Staff. The APRN will perform complex psychiatric clinical work in a culturally competent, trauma-informed, person-centered method empowering individuals to guide treatment. The complex psychiatric clinical work includes evaluation of individuals, evaluation and management services, and coordination of care with other workforce members within LifePath Systems continuum of treatment programs. The ARPN will complete culturally and linguistically appropriate, trauma-informed, person-centered assessments and recovery plan to determine the diagnosis and, if applicable, prescribing of psychotropic medications. This position is responsible for ensuring proper laboratory tests and screenings are ordered and evaluating all results prior to prescribing and/or renewing psychotropic medications. This position will participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings regarding referrals, death reviews, and assistance in developing the person-centered recovery plan. The APRN will ensure that all clinical practices are completed in accordance with their scope of practice as recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing.
