Affiliated Oncologists in Chicago Ridge/Orland Park, IL is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner for an in-office role. The NP will work under supervision or with practice physicians, delivering cancer care, coordinating patient management, and potentially telemedicine support.

Join Affiliated Oncologists as a Nurse Practitioner!

Employment Type: Full-Time

In-Office Position

Chicago Ridge, IL and/or Orland Park, IL

AO specializes in treating a variety of cancers including lymphoma lung, breast, prostate, gynecologic, colorectal and head and neck cancers. Our physicians and staff are multi-disciplinary team of highly experiencedcaregivers focused on helping patients and their families receive the best care and support possible.

SCOPE: Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • -Assesses, plans,implements,and evaluates care for patients.
  • -Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family responseandprescribes therapiesas indicated.
  • -Performs procedureswith minimal supervision.
  • -Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
  • -Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • -Oftenincorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.
  • -Solidknowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • -Completes patient chargecapture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
  • -Likely to provide case management forpatientsand their families.
  • -Sometimesservesasaresource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.
  • -Mayprovide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.
  • -Maypromote/provide staff education
  • -Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliatedhospitals, weekend or after-hour calls
  • -May mentor newadvanced practice providers
  • -May precept APP students
  • - Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • This position typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner.
  • Previous oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state required.
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner required.
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.

SALARY RANGE:
  • $106,000 - $150,000 per year
