Job summary

Community Health-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner for the Central Indiana urgent care network. You will provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages, assess, diagnose, and treat conditions, and collaborate with physicians when needed.

Responsibilities include exams, orders/tests, minor procedures, vaccinations, EMR documentation, and patient education. Shifts are 4, 8, or 12 hours; emphasis on rapid, compassionate care in a busy setting.

Qualifications

• 1 year of full-time NP/PA experience in urgent care or emergency medicine
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patients
• Proficient in suturing, casting, and splinting
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays
• Master’s degree in Nursing
• National NP certification (AANP or ANCC)

• Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments
• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR

• Work scheduled shifts of 4, 8, or 12 hours as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

About the Role

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) , you will provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You’ll treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. You’ll work independently or alongside a physician, using your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while recognizing when to elevate care to emergency services.

Essential Responsibilities

• - Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories
• - Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
• - Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications
• - Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
• - Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR
• - Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention
• - Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed
• - Work scheduled shifts of 4, 8, or 12 hours as assigned
• - Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications

• - Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP or PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting (required)
• - Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (required)
• - Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting (required)
• - Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays (required)

Nurse Practitioners:

• - Master’s degree in Nursing (required)
• - National certification as a Nurse Practitioner ( AANP or ANCC ) (required)

• - Proficiency in urgent care procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting)
• - Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• - Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• - Attentive listening and patient engagement

Preferred Qualifications

• - Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• - Multilingual communication skills
• - Familiarity with telemedicine platforms
• - Basic understanding of medical billing and coding
