Job summary

CHC Addiction Services in Akron, OH seeks a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. You will perform comprehensive assessments, diagnose and treat illnesses, and collaborate with physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes, with emphasis on addiction medicine and patient wellness.

Qualifications

  • Licensed and in good standing as an Ohio Nurse Practitioner.
  • Experience in addiction medicine and medication-assisted treatment.
  • AANPCB certification required.
  • Proficient in coding and billing of services.
  • Ability to collaborate with the Chief Medical Director and lead when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Observes blood draws and completes phlebotomy competence testing for identified staff.
  • Provide in-service training on new healthcare technologies.
  • Provide charting for all staff and patients.
  • Provide case management including progress notes and medical reports.

Job description

CHC is a non-profit social service agency in the Akron area whose mission is to treat, inspire, support and empower individuals and families impacted by the disease of addiction. CHC has been a critical part of Ohio’s efforts to treat and prevent substance use disorders since 1974.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team in Akron, OH. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, perform comprehensive assessments, diagnose and treat illnesses, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Observes blood draws and completes phlebotomy competence testing on identified staff.
  • Provide in-service training programs as needed to address new technology in health care treatment.
  • Provides charting for all staff and patients.
  • Provides case management to include progress notes and other medical reports on all patients.
Minimum Requirements:

Must be licensed and in good standing in Ohio as a Nurse Practitioner, have the ability to provide patient care to our patient population to include: physical exams, preventive and primary care services, services for acute illnesses, psychiatric services, and evaluate and promote patient wellness; Prescribe drugs and Schedule II through V (within scope of practice) controlled substances and dispense scheduled drugs; Provide all services in collaboration with our Chief Medical Director. Experienced in addiction medicine, including medication-assisted treatment. AANPCB certified. Comprehend coding and billing of services provided. Demonstrates strong leadership and organization skills along with the ability to suggest or recommend hire, fire, advancement, promotion or other changes in status.
