Job summary

Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. in Billerica, MA is seeking a per diem Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) for an outpatient treatment program located at Middlesex House of Correction. Schedule requires every Monday with three shifts per month to remain per diem.

Responsibilities include administering medications, counting and documenting onsite medications, educating clients about MAT, verifying orders, and assisting with admissions and documentation of substance use diagnoses.

Qualifications

• Must hold a MA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or a Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current CPR certificate or certification within 90 days of hire.
• Demonstrates independent judgment in emergencies.
• Able to communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary, culturally diverse setting.
• Experience in substance abuse/mental health or acute care inpatient setting preferred.

Billerica, MA - Outpatient Treatment Program and will be within the Middlesex House of Correction.

Schedule

Per diem; Every Monday required. (3) shifts per month total to remain per diem.

Pay rate

$36.50/hour (LPN), $38.50/hour (RN). $3.00/hour weekend differential

The Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse Is Responsible For

• Administering medication to clients as outlined in medication administration policy.
• The control, counting and appropriate documentation of onsite medication.
• Educating clients on use, purpose, side effects, and other information relating to medication assisted treatment.
• Verifying medication orders with the physician and transcribes physician’s orders.
• Assisting in the admission process and documents substance use diagnosis as required.

Qualifications

• Must be a MA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN).
• Must have a current CPR certificate or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies.
• Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with clients, families, staff and regulatory agencies.
• Experience in substance abuse/mental health field or an acute care inpatient healthcare environment preferred.
