Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Neurosurgery (Spine) inpatient team at Carolinas Medical Center - Main, 9 Tower in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on coordinating care across physician teams and supporting multidisciplinary rounds.

Candidates should have a nursing degree, an active RN license in the state, current BLS, and preferably 3 years of inpatient neurosurgery experience.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state.
  • Current BLS certification, ACLS preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience preferred.
  • Prior inpatient Neurosurgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with multiple physician teams regarding the care plan for each spine patient daily.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds on 9T to optimize teammate communication for neurosurgical patients.
  • Facilitate communication with physician teams regarding patient or nursing questions/concerns.
  • Communicate with family members to ensure understanding of patient’s care.
  • Coordinate with social workers/case managers to assist with patient disposition.
  • Assist with scheduling of post op follow ups, wound checks and outpatient imaging.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Neurosurgery (Spine) inpatient team. Ideal nursing candidates demonstrate a strong commitment to service excellence, nursing excellence, and adaptability.

Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing

Position Details
  • Monday – Friday 7:00a – 3:30p
  • Carolinas Medical Center - Main, 9 Tower
What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate with multiple physician teams regarding the care plan for each spine patient daily
  • In conjunction with providers, participate in multidisciplinary rounds on 9T to optimize teammate communication for our neurosurgical patients
  • Facilitate communication with physician teams regarding patient or nursing questions/concerns
  • Communicate with family members to ensure adequate understanding of patient’s care during hospital course
  • Coordinate with social workers/case managers to assist with appropriate patient disposition
  • Assist with scheduling of post op follow ups, wound checks and outpatient imaging
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Working knowledge of the components of quality and acute patient care needs.

Maintains clinical expertise to effectively manage physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs of patients throughout the care continuum.

Excellent analytical and interpersonal communication skills necessary to negotiate with families, patient, physicians, and third-party payers.

Demonstrated ability to work well with physicians and other professionals in a direct and positive manner.
