Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System seeks an RN to identify patient financial/medical eligibility and develop, implement, and monitor individual care plans at New Parkland Hospital. You will communicate plans to patients, families, and PHHS staff to ensure efficient, cost-effective, quality care.

The role requires RN licensure in Texas (or Compact) and current BLS certification, with at least two years of nursing experience. Schedule is Days, Monday–Friday, 7am–3:30pm, at New Parkland Hospital.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Two (2) years of nursing experience.
• Must have current, valid RN license or temporary RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from approved organizations.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive patient assessments and gathers information from records to determine medical and financial status.
• Develops and communicates patient plans of care; coordinates with primary care providers for continuity of care.
• Educates patients on diagnosis, treatment, and care processes; explains payor coverage and funding sources.
• Reviews referrals and coordinates scheduling to ensure timely care and efficient resource use.
• Acts as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare staff to advocate for patients’ needs and rights.
• Maintains documentation in computerized systems and ensures reimbursement processes are followed.
