Job summary

Parkland Community Health Plan seeks a Registered Nurse to coordinate patient care using the nursing process within the Parkland nursing practice model. The RN assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates care while delegating tasks to team members and ensuring timely patient transitions.

The role requires current Texas RN licensure (or Compact), BLS certification, and outcome-focused, patient-centered care. BSN preferred; graduation by December 2026 is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Registered Nursing program; BSN preferred; must graduate by December 2026.
• RN license in Texas (or Compact license) with current, valid status.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA/Red Cross/Military Training Network.
• Knowledge of the Texas Nurse Practice Act and infection control standards.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patients while respecting rights, confidentiality, and cultural preferences.
• Coordinate and provide patient care per multidisciplinary plan of care and nursing standards.
• Document accurately and maintain timely entries in patient care records and hospital documents.
• Provide patient and family education and support, including handoffs when care is relinquished.
• Stay current with nursing practice developments and participate in professional activities.
