Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med/Surg Intermediate in Winfield, IL. This full-time night role (7pm-7:30am with rotating weekends) supports an acute care 26-bed unit with shared governance and bedside rounds. Requires IL RN license, ADN with BSN plan, and BLS.

The nurse coordinates care from assessment through evaluation, collaborates with the care team, and uses evidence to guide practice in a high-acuity setting.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license required.
• BLS certification at time of hire.
• ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain BSN within three years.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, and plans individualized care.
• Directs care and utilizes nursing staff effectively in patient care.
• Collaborates with patients, families, physicians and staff to coordinate care.
• Participates in governance, committees and unit projects.
• Documents patient responses and evaluates progress toward outcomes.
• Uses evidence to guide nursing practice and maintains ANA standards.
