Talent One Services is seeking an experienced RN leader to serve as Manager of Surgical Services, providing 24-hour operational and clinical oversight of the Operating Room and Central Sterile Processing/Reprocessing departments. Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or multi-state Compact license with Virginia eligibility.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of two years of recent Operating Room/Surgical Services experience in an acute care hospital.
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and patient safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with physicians, staff, and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24-hour leadership and operational oversight of the Operating Room and Central Sterile Processing departments.
  • Direct daily OR operations, including scheduling, staffing, workflow coordination, case progression, and patient flow.
  • Ensure the effective utilization of personnel, equipment, operating rooms, and other surgical resources.
  • Develop and manage staff schedules to maintain coverage while achieving productivity goals.
  • Monitor staffing levels and premium labor utilization and implement strategies to improve efficiency.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and evaluate nursing and perioperative team members.
  • Foster a culture of patient safety, accountability, collaboration, and clinical excellence.
  • Partner with physicians, anesthesia providers, and hospital leadership to identify opportunities to improve services and outcomes.
  • Oversee supply management, inventory utilization, and cost-containment initiatives.
  • Monitor departmental performance metrics and prepare reports related to quality and productivity.
  • Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives while promoting evidence-based perioperative practices.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and risk management initiatives.
  • Promote employee engagement, professional development, and a positive team environment.

We're seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) leader to serve as Manager of Surgical Services, providing 24-hour operational and clinical oversight of the Operating Room (OR) and Central Sterile Processing/Reprocessing (CSPD/CSR) departments.

The Manager, Surgical Services is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative care while leading day-to-day operations, staffing, productivity, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance. This position works closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize surgical operations and deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines strong Operating Room clinical experience with proven leadership capabilities and a commitment to patient safety, team development, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or active multistate/Compact RN license with eligibility to practice in Virginia.

  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent Operating Room/Surgical Services experience within an acute care hospital environment.

  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices, clinical standards, infection prevention, and patient safety.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, and hospital leadership.
