Qualifications

  • Current CO RN license required.
  • Three years as a registered nurse strongly preferred.
  • Two years of registered nursing experience required.
  • One year of prior experience with the population required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams and administration to meet residents' needs.
  • Anticipate and manage census and acuity, allocating nursing resources accordingly.
  • Model customer service and prioritize patient safety with urgency.
  • Provide consultations and expertise in delivery of care; act as resource to staff.
  • Coordinate safe, effective care across departments and disciplines.
  • Analyze information to select best solutions and improve care processes.
  • Identify educational needs and develop training programs for staff.
  • Assist development and implementation of policies and procedures for the facility.
  • Prepare reports on programs, services, and quality initiatives for management.
  • Plan budgets and authorize expenditures as part of administrative duties.
  • Provide staff management including hiring, development, training and performance management.
  • Provide direct care as needed.

Job description

West Pines Behavioral Hospital is a new 144-bed inpatient behavioral health facility serving Denver area residents located at 11455 Huron Street, Westminster, CO. A joint venture between Intermountain Health and Acadia Healthcare. The hospital will provide comprehensive inpatient and intensive outpatient services to address the growing need for accessible, high-quality behavioral health care in the Denver metro area with an opening date of December 2024.

  • Mid Shift (Mon - Fri 11am-7:30pm)

Purpose Statement
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments and administration to ensure that all residents' physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental and cultural needs are met and when they are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve customer complaints.
  • Anticipate and effectively manage changes in census and acuity and allocates nursing resources based on measurement of patient acuity/care needed.
  • Role models expectations related to customer service and demonstrates a sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety.
  • Accountable for the standard of care at the facility, providing consultations and expertise in the delivery of care to patient.
  • Serve as a clinical and service resource to nursing staff and other staff as assigned.
  • Manage the activities of staff, coordinating safe and appropriate care between departments and disciplines.
  • Manage and evaluate work activities of nursing, technical, clerical, service or maintenance staff for the unit, work group and other facility staff as directed.
  • Analyze information/situation to choose the best solution(s) to solve problems.
  • Identify the educational needs of others and develop educational or training programs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures for the facility.
  • Prepare reports to inform management of the status and implementation of programs, services and quality initiatives of the unit.
  • Perform administrative or managerial functions such as planning budgets and authorizing expenditures.
  • Provide staff management to include hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.
  • Provide direct care as needed.
Other Functions
  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skill Requirements
  • BSN or higher strongly preferred
  • Current registered nursing license in State of facility required
  • Three years as a registered nurse strongly preferred
  • Two years of registered nursing experience required
  • Two years of prior experience as a registered nursing with patient population of the facility is preferred.
  • One year of prior experience with the population required
  • Prior experience as a house supervisor strongly preferred
  • One year of charge RN or other administrative experience required.
Licenses/Designations/Certifications
  • Current RN license as required by state.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.

Salary Range: $108,000 - $143,000
