Job summary

Maine Veterans’ Homes South Paris is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Nurse Manager to lead our nursing staff and residents. This role combines clinical expertise with leadership to ensure high-quality, compassionate care.

You will oversee daily operations, coordinate resident care, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor the nursing team within a mission-driven organization dedicated to Caring for Those Who Served.

Qualifications

• Current Maine RN license with valid registration.
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead, coach and support a diverse nursing team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of an assigned nursing unit.
• Coordinate and evaluate comprehensive resident care plans and ensure care is delivered according to needs and MVH policies.
• Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff.
• Monitor residents' conditions and follow up with physicians and families.
• Ensure timely nursing documentation and care plans.
• Monitor medication processes and audits to ensure safe practices.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and effective assignment of personnel.
• Coach, mentor, train, and evaluate nursing staff.
• Participate in hiring, employee relations, investigations, and supervisory responsibilities.
• Respond to resident and family concerns and resolve issues.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, meetings, surveys, inspections, and regulatory activities.
• Work with Director of Nursing Services and Nursing Supervisor on operations and regulatory requirements.
