Maine Veterans’ Homes South Paris is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Nurse Manager to lead our nursing staff and oversee resident care, ensuring high standards and compassionate service.

You will supervise day‑to‑day unit operations, coordinate care plans, mentor nurses and CNAs, and work with nursing leadership to meet regulatory requirements and quality-improvement goals. This mission-driven role supports our Veterans and their families.

Competenze

• Current and valid Maine RN license.
• Knowledge of state, federal, and VA regulations.
• Strong communication, organizational, time-management, and leadership skills.
• Ability to lead, delegate, coach, and support a diverse nursing team.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Mansioni

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of an assigned nursing unit.
• Coordinate and evaluate comprehensive resident care plans and ensure care is delivered according to resident needs, MVH policies, and applicable regulations.
• Provide clinical leadership and guidance to Charge Nurses, Staff Nurses, CNAs, CNA/Ms, Rehabilitation CNAs, and CNA-In-Trainings.
• Monitor residents' conditions and ensure appropriate follow-up with physicians, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of nursing documentation, assessments, MDS-related documentation, progress notes, and care plans.
• Monitor medication processes and conduct required audits to promote safe and compliant medication practices.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and effective assignment of personnel to meet resident care needs.
• Coach, mentor, train, and evaluate nursing staff while addressing performance concerns in a fair and consistent manner.
• Participate in hiring, employee relations, investigations, and other supervisory responsibilities as assigned.
• Respond to resident and family concerns and work collaboratively to resolve issues.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, in-service education, surveys, inspections, and regulatory activities.
