Job summary

Fremont Hospital is seeking a Nurse Manager to ensure coordinated delivery of patient care in line with standards and hospital policy. The role provides supervision to nursing staff and supports performance improvement initiatives while modeling clinical excellence.

Ideal candidates will have nursing leadership experience in a psychiatric setting, a State Nursing license, and CPR certification. This full-time position is based in Fremont, CA with benefits described in the facility prospectus.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience in psychiatric nursing management.
• Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing in good standing.
• CPR (AED) certification must be obtained prior to completing orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provides supervision to the nursing staff and serves as a resource for hospital policies and procedures.
• Participates in the facility's Performance Improvement Program.
• Advocates for patients and upholds patient rights.
• Role models clinical and procedural expertise through teaching and consultation.
• Identifies patient service needs by building rapport with patients and others.
• Maintains nursing operations by coordinating and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Ensures quality of care by interpreting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Recruit and train nursing and auxiliary staff; schedule and assign work.
• Coach and develop staff; monitor performance and provide feedback.
• Create a compassionate environment by offering emotional support to patients and families.
• Provide information to patients and health care team; address questions and requests.
• Foster cooperation among health care teams and contribute to team problem solving.

Education
