Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) seeks a Nurse Manager to report to the School Nurse Director. This full-time exempt role leads certified school nurses, health service nurses, and licensed practical nurses, aligning with Section 504 and IDEA and supporting district health goals.

The Nurse Manager will supervise 75+ nurses, coordinate city-wide staffing, and drive professional development while partnering with central teams to strengthen nursing practice and data-driven health initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college.
• Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
• Current IL RN license and CPR certification.
• REACH certification within 18 months of orientation.
• Five years RN experience; three years leading nursing teams.
• One year coordinating efforts across multiple units.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, develop, and manage the performance of 75 or more nurses.
• Schedule district and agency nurses and substitutes daily.
• Lead and facilitate training to improve practice.
• Collaborate with Staffing to hire nurses city-wide and mentor new staff.
• Manage inventory of resources for nurses city-wide.
• Assist in building a Public Health Nursing Corp for CPS responses.
• Oversee health protocols, education, data/report management.
• PPE management, ordering, and distribution.
• Lead mass vaccination program development and protocols.
• Promote Healthy CPS initiatives and Wellness Teams in schools.
• Analyze health data and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve nurse programming.
