Job summary

The Manager - Nursing at Great River Health Systems in West Burlington, IA is an exempt, full‑time role overseeing the development of staff and systems to operate an acute care inpatient hospital setting. The Nurse Manager plans and implements nursing processes for safe practice and 24‑hour accountability, monitoring productivity and collaborating with leaders to support clinical and financial performance.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field, or degree completed within 3 years.
• 4–6 years nursing practice and/or leadership experience preferred.
• 1–3 years proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• 1–3 years prior nursing leadership experience preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support & First Aid - American Heart Association RN required.

Responsibilities

• Screen job applicants, and hire new employees.
• Direct and supervise unit operations and staff.
• Develop and implement case management programs to facilitate care coordination.
• Formulate and implement operational strategies to improve workflows.
• Plan and prepare employee work schedules and monitor productivity.
