Job summary

Great River Health in West Burlington, IA is seeking a registered nurse to deliver care using the nursing process across geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, and telemetry units. Shifts run 7:00am–7:30pm with every other weekend rotations and a three-group holiday rotation schedule.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, document clearly, administer medications, and educate patients and families while collaborating with the health care team.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates ability to assess patient condition and plan individualized care.
• Administers prescribed medications per policy and six rights of medication administration.
• Documents all aspects of nursing care in medical records clearly and timely.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient condition, documenting and communicating results to physician.
• Document all aspects of patient care provided in the medical record, adhering to documentation standards.
• Administer prescribed medications adhering to the six rights of medication administration, IV fluids, enteral feedings, monitoring their effectiveness, and addressing needs.
• Provide basic patient care and treatments such as dressing wounds, preventing and treating pressure ulcers or performing catheterizations.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests or treatments and explain procedures.
