Job summary

Universal Health Services, The Pavilion Behavioral Health System in Champaign, IL, is seeking a Nurse Manager for inpatient adult behavioral health. You will oversee nursing practice standards, staffing, and patient care quality on the adult unit, in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and Medical Staff.

Responsibilities include budgeting, staff development, performance improvement, and policy updates aligned with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Licensed in the state of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and CPR certification required.
• Experience: Prior clinical psychiatric nursing experience and two years managerial experience preferred.
• Demonstrates progressive roles in nursing leadership.
• Strong communication and listening skills. Able to project a positive image and reflect a high degree of professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Sets and displays standards for the adult unit in accordance with regulations governing nursing practice and the Illinois Board of Nursing; establishes clinical goals and objectives.
• Develops the unit budget with the Director of Nursing; ensures appropriate staffing reflective of census and acuity; manages unit FTEs.
• Trains and develops unit staff to meet adult population needs.
• Assists Director of Nursing with Performance Improvement initiatives and policy development.
• Monitors patient satisfaction scores and safety on the adult unit.
• Collaborates with Medical Staff and participates in committees to enhance patient care quality.
• Investigates incidents and reports to Administration, Risk Manager and other agencies as needed.
